Buyer Protection

What we guarantee when you order on PaperCrane.

Your protection

Your money is held until shipment

When you pay, the seller does not receive your money. It releases when the carrier first scans the package, and if there is no scan within 14 days of the sale, the order refunds to you automatically, with no claim to file. That returns the lot price, your shipping and any tax; the card-processing line stays with the payment network.

Lots must match their listing

If what arrives is materially different from the listing (wrong items, undisclosed condition problems, missing quantity), you are covered. Report it within 5 days of delivery. Ordinary wear consistent with the listed condition of vintage goods isn't a defect.

Grades and defects

You're buying to resell, so lots are graded and priced knowing not every piece is perfect — a dud or two per lot is normal, and at least one is expected in any lot whatever its size. We step in when the damage goes past what the grade promises. Cream (A) carries a 5% tolerance and Standard (B) a 10% tolerance: once truly unsellable pieces exceed that, you're refunded half the value of each piece beyond it and you keep them, no return. Mixed / As-Is (C) and Sealed bales are sold with flaws disclosed, so item condition isn't covered. Stains that wash out and normal vintage wear aren't defects. Getting the wrong items, a short count, a fake, or nothing at all is always covered, at every grade.

How a claim works

Message the seller first. A dispute cannot be opened until you have, because most problems end in one conversation. If it isn't made right, open the order and use Report a problem. The form asks what happened and collects your photos, the seller adds their side, and a person at PaperCrane decides with a written reason, usually within a couple of days.

The outcomes

One of four: a full refund to your original payment (credit you spent comes back too), a replacement, no fault found, or the claim withdrawn.

Scope

Protection covers orders placed through PaperCrane checkout. The 5-day window runs from delivery and applies to as-described claims; non-shipment needs no claim at all. A chargeback filed with your card issuer is a separate process decided by the card network, not by PaperCrane.
